What a wonderful year it has been! It’s also just after my one year mark in LA. I’ll write up a review on both soon. Here is a pic from today as the STi sits now.
Thankfully still sitting pretty with very few mods. Just the side and rear window tint, the removable roof rack, better tires, and nothing else. I’ve held strong avoiding the mod bug. The car is perfect stock performance and handling, louder exhaust is about the only thing I could ask for. To many more adventures!

Looks so good. I think I'd want fogs, but I can't deny how clean it looks with the covers

Louder exhaust and a tune! But wait! If you’re spending money on a tune you may as well do a couple other little bits like a silicone turbo inlet, electronic boost controller, and higher flow fuel pump. A nd it definitely stops ther e…

If fogs actually served a purpose I'd consider it but the HIDs are plenty of enough light for all occasions. But yeah I do like fogs in general. I don't even know if the wiring is there though, haven't looked into it.

Noooooo no tune lol. That's exactly where the slippery slope begins. Only reason I'd ever consider it is just to get better gas mileage. Exhaust is not for power, I just like hearing exhaust noises when getting on it. All I get are turbo noises, while cool are not nearly loud enough to be that exciting. Just a mildly louder Rumble and hopefully no highway drone would be my ideal choice. It sounds real nice in a parking garage but anywhere else, including tunnels, I get nothing.

Oh, I know. I bought my WRX with a turbo back already on there and not really knowing if it had been tuned or not. To be on the safe side I took it in for a tune and that’s what the entrance to the rabbit hole.

Thank you. It's annoying that most people seem to ruin these. But at least I found a clean one to preserve and drive the crap out of (much more gently than my Miata though haha)

congrats - love the looks of that car, (one of the last true box flare cars.) I’ve had my WRX (just a base) for about 14 months and just love it. I put an oil change on it this morning and went out “to make sure the new oil was ok”. I’ve got the factory catback sport exhaust on it and it’s mildly loud (sounds great at start up or a strong 3rd gear pull,) but honestly wouldn’t mind even a little more noise, other than in parking garages where I already set off car alarms...

Driving my Miata with no roof and a loud exhaust always makes me wish for something on the STi even more. And I agree, that stock it isn't exactly quiet with a good sound in those instances. It's just not loud enough for my general taste. But then again it's nice having a quiet commute sometimes and it's easy to just drive the car in a relaxed mode.

That’s exactly how I react everytime I see another Hawkeye on the road. I also get a decent chuckle every time I see the big banner at work that says HAWKEYE COUNTRY on the E2 hangars. Convenient that being the name of that plane too.
